We are a full-service rail car lessor, which includes the management of all maintenance and operational issues related to operating a rail car fleet. Lineage tailors its leasing programs to each customer’s specific needs, including the development of fully customized railcars. This unique approach helps our customers integrate rail transportation into their supply chain in the most effective and efficient way possible.

64’ Mechanically Refrigerated Boxcars (64’ Reefers)
Our 64’ interior-length boxcar is better suited for perishable commodities that will “weigh out” a railcar before the products “cube out” the available space in the car.
Ideal Commodities for a 64’ reefer are:

72’ Mechanically Refrigerated Boxcars (72’ Reefers)
Our 72’ interior-length boxcar is designed to carry perishable commodities that are lighter weight and require a maximum amount of interior volume.

68’ heavily Insulated Boxcars (68’ Insulated)
Our 68’ Insulated railcar is manufactured with high density insulation and is specifically designed for temperature-sensitive commodities. The cars do not have mechanical refrigeration, they are designed to protect commodities from freeze and reduce temperature fluctuations in transit.
Ideal Commodities for a 68’ insulated railcar are:
Wine | Juice | Beer | Bottled Water | Canned and Jarred Goods | Any Commodity Needing Freeze Protection
60’ Heavy Insulated Boxcar (60’ Insulated)
Our 60’ Insulated railcar is manufactured with high density insulation and is specifically designed for temperature-sensitive commodities. The cars do not have mechanical refrigeration, they are designed to protect commodities from freeze and reduce temperature fluctuations in transit.
Ideal Commodities for a 60’ insulated railcar are:

As a Logistics Provider, Lineage Logistics provides a complete menu of Rail Management Programs (RMP) to support and enhance our customers leased railcar programs. We tailor the scope of our services to match our customer's needs and expectations. Lineage Logistics' RMP services include:

Lineage Logistics Mechanical Protective Services (MPS) provide a complete service solution for reefer operations. All of our refrigeration units are equipped with satellite and cellular (dual mode) communication capabilities. The Lineage Logistics Mechanical Refrigeration team monitors the reefer units of our entire fleet on a 24/7/365 basis. Our MPS team oversees and manages all reefer repairs, preventive maintenance, and fueling.
MPS monitors:
- Refrigeration unit operations, any mechanical issues are immediately addressed
- Remote fuel level monitoring, to ensure constant reefer operations
- Cargo Damage - Impacts are recorded with our built-in accelerometers
- Cargo Security - GPS monitored door open sensors
- Cargo Quality - Constantly monitoring temperatures
Lease terms start at three years and go as long as twenty-five years, depending on the equipment required.
Trip leases are available for short term testing. This allows the customer the opportunity to test our cars and programs for up to 120 days.
Integrated Railcar Repair was launched in September of 2017 out of a need in the marketplace for a reliable and trustworthy repair shop that is car owner and customer focused. We have hired a team of skilled railcar repair technicians with over 50 years combined industry experience. We currently have locations in Riverbank, CA, Woodland, CA, Vale, OR and Burley, ID. We are the Running Repair Agent for the Sierra Northern Railroad.
